Roane County Constable
Roan County Grand Jury indicted Roan County Constable Mark Patton on two counts of reckless endangerment charges involving family members of top law enforcement officials and one count of official misconduct.
The daughter of the Roan County Sheriff Jack Stockton accused Patton trying to run her off the road as she drove down Interstate 40. A family member of Kingston Police Chief Jim Washam's accused Patton running them off the road. The Police Chief stated that he is not going to comment on the issue right now.
The Roane County District Attorney General and Roane County Attorney filed an ouster suit to remove Patton from office of Constable which he was elected in 2006.
Circuit Court Judge Russell Simmons Jr. has scheduled a jury trial for the ouster case of Patton on May 19-21.
The suit accuses Patton be a menace to Roane County, threatening members of the law enforcement community, elected officials and citizens.Charges are still pending on Patton for allegedly assaulting three people at Kingston City Park in General Session Court.
